Surrealist Portraiture

I’ve always been a big fan on Man Ray and Lee Miller. During a recent photography portrait course, we were given the task of creating some surrealist images. I thought up some ideas and experimented in my studio. I put my network of attractive friends to good use and came up with the following images!

I think these techniques will work well for future portrait photography workshops and commissions!

Canon 5dmk4. Sigma Art 85mm f1.4. Canon 24-70L f2.8 Mk2 with Elinchrome Studio Flash heads with strip and square softboxes. Prophoto heads with 5′ soft box.

Art Deco mirror bought purposely for shoot from a charity shop!

Models, Emily Williams, Allison Verrall, Elizabeth Niko- Chen Camara

Thanks also to Damon Hart for providing large soft box , grid and manpower!- always a pleasure!
